11 - Glass Painting on Stained Glass (as
opposed to glass painting on bevels)
Prices starting at $100
This has become a popular area for my customers. They can cut out
the stained glass to any design they like. They send the glass to me
with their painting instructions. I complete it and return it to them.
They have had a lot of fun with this process. There is a nice sense of
freedom, being able to cut any shape glass they want, and get a hand
painted medallion as the cameo for their window panel, etc. This gives
them "one of a kind" art objects for "shows", etc... (They must use
Spectrum Glass for the painting pieces). The custom artwork on the
angels by Brad, on page 11.7, show an
excellent way to enhance your stained glass projects.
If you have a design you like, but can't cut the pieces, let me
know, and I'll try to get the pieces cut for you. I can also try to get
the project assembled for you. Note: there are additional
charges for these services.
Customers have asked me to paint a bevel cluster for them and
paint additional stained glass pieces to extend the design. By using
painted glass along with the bevels, they can create a totally unique
look. The uniqueness is only limited by the artist's imagination. There
is so much yet to be explored. Pricing for this type of painting is
estimated based on "studio time used". The comments have been that "my
charges are reasonable" for fine art.
The finished panels can be used in the office or the home. They
can be hung as panels in windows in your living room, dining room,
bedroom, den, family room, kitchen, etc. They can also be incorporated
into doors for cabinets, or furniture.
