When we came down this road last year (after Hurricane Wilma had
been through), there were large piles of sand on the right-hand side of
the road. They had been put there when they scraped the
accumulation of sand off of the road surface so that cars could drive
on the road. Also, the house in the middle of the photo, was
disconnected from the island (they had to do some major backfilling to
create a new front yard and driveway for this house).
