For those of you who haven't seen our "rig", here is a little
information about it. The length of the motor home and van
combination is about 62 feet (longer than my house, and about 3 to 4
times a long as the average automobile). Our total weight on the
road is about 50,000 pounds, more than 10 times the weight of an
average car. It is a lot of responsibility when driving it, and
it
takes a lot of attention to avoid all the drivers on the road who don't
realize the chances they are taking when the cut off a vehicle of this
size. The "dome" on the roof at the front provides "full motion
TV", so that we can watch for weather problems while on the road.
The bump on the top of the van is a spare tire for the motor home,
wrapped with a tarp to minimize damage from the weather.
